Why buy from Pond Planet?
This would have had 5 stars if it had worked effortlessly the first time I tried to use it.
I had a problem linking the EGC Controller to my Router and my phone once the controller was initially installed with my filter system.
The error/fault indications in the manual do not cover all scenarios to the point where I had to contact Oase Technical department to try and sort the problem out. The controller seemed to be locked in a firmware update. To reset the Controller the reset button has to be pressed for five seconds, this is not listed in the Error/fault indications in the manual.
After the controller was reset I tried to link the controller to my Router using WPS on both units, this did not work. (The controller was set up approx 15 Metres from my Router, 13 Metres being in line of sight))
I also tried a direct connection (access point mode) on my phone which also didn’t work.
I contacted Oase technical who advised me to disable the firewall on my Router temporarily why I tried to connect the controller, this also didn’t work.
Eventually I moved the controller and power supply within a couple of metres of my Router and set up a WPS link successfully.
The controller was then reinstalled back to the filter system and the connection was then successful.
I found the Quickstart and the main manual instructions somewhat lacking and often doubted if I was using the correct password when I was trying to sort out all the problems.
I also had a problem registering the Controller as in section B and item 4, in the Quick start quide, and was unable to register.
There may also be another problem with switching from the cloud connection to the access point Mode within the App whereby details of the SSID and password would have to be re-input. I have yet to test this out further.
I have also not yet tested the system away from my house environment and using the Cloud to access the information, at the moment.
